Well we are 3 years 9 months and 5 days into my entrepreneurial journey. I am a proud business owner of House Jefe a local Interior Design Studio here in Austin Texas.
The journey has been kicking my butt! I'm not going to lie. It has been way more difficult than I thought it would be. Everyday I think about quitting but the good thing is that it will always be there. This is something that I can always do. It's up to me how much time and effort I put into growing this business. And there you have it! It is only up to you!
No one is going to work as hard as you are for your business. Yes, I have the freedom to do what I want when I want but when you are just getting started that doesn't really happen all the time. You have to be dedicated to getting the results you want. Have I reached that goal yet? Absolutely not! Not even close. I have done a lot of leg work to make sure I have all the proper things in place in order to be efficient and effective when doing business here in the state of Texas. I have built my brand and I make sure to showcase my expertise whenever I can.
Being in business for myself has made it easier to be a stay at home mom full-time. That does not always give me the opportunity to dedicate as much time as I can to the business but I am trying to keep a healthy balance between the two. I know I have to always be prepared to take on new clients and go that extra mile when it's time.
The big pains are not knowing when you will get paid. So yes you have the opportunity to really get clients and make a substantial amount of money, but what happens when the phone isn't ringing off the hook? How do you manage the last paycheck until you receive another? I think this is the biggest factor that keeps us all from reaching for our dreams and pursuing this path. There was never a time where I didn't know my payday and how much money I was going to get. It is a scary position to be in but it can be done with some money managing skills and a lot of prayer!!!
I do strongly believe that God will provide for all my needs. I also have had the opportunity to learn more about finances and become more financially savvy over these past few years. How to build business credit and diversify my portfolio to make my money make money for my family. Taking the time to truly understand what investing is and what I need to invest my time and money into.
I have truly been blessed and stressed I'm not gonna lie. I will say that I have done more than I have ever done with my home, and with my family since I left my 9 to 5. I am very thankful for this freedom and I know that if I can be consistent and show up for myself and my business that God will bless it to grow. He put this dream in my heart and I will not sleep on my gifts that he has given me.
I also wouldn't be able to do this without my husbands support and love and my family and friends giving me projects to do!! I appreciate you all!
